The Birthday Day

Cole's 4th birthday started with morning greetings with hats and horns followed by breakfast with a blue birthday ribbon (cute idea, but we forgot to pin it on) and a new bike (as well as calls from G-mas and G-pas). We met his friends at the park for playtime and cupcakes, then headed to McDonalds for lunch with Dad...except McDonald's was a zoo, so we ended up at Wendy's (chicken nuggets are chicken nuggets, right?).

Then, I headed out of town to take care of important things like this:

and drool over things like this:

and make things like this:
And stay up late with my sis and some other great ladies at Scrapfest.

So, Cole's official party had to wait until the next weekend. (But, I have a feeling by the way the house looked when I got home that it was pretty much a party while I was gone...)

Brothers

Grandma & Grandpa A sent this cute postcard from Maui and said it reminded them of some pics of Cole and Crew... and I knew just what photo they meant.

And 8 months later they are still playing like this together...except Cole is usually laying on top of Crew making him laugh or getting a little rough with his wrestling moves. I love my boys!

Happy V-Day

We declared a new family tradition today...

Valentines Fondue Dinner

Cheers to that!

Big Little News

Just wanted to share the big news...we discovered Crew has finally broken skin on his 1st tooth. I tried to get a pic, but that proved a little difficult.

Can you see the little white guy poking through his bottom gums?

Today he also had his first (McDonald's) french fry -- a momentous occasion in any young American family.

Moose down

Well it's 10 p.m. on Dec. 23 and I just finished wrapping all the gifts. Now I'm on to packing. Greg's got one last pool to do in the a.m. (it got too dark too fast to get them all in today) and then we are off to UT.

Poor moose is still down w/ no lights, we just aren't going to get around to saving him this year...but, the larger question is: what does it say about us that we left the moose laying on his side in the rock river bed in front of our house for weeks?

We're inhumane?
We're lazy?
We're funny?

Just another commentary on the real state of affairs at this house...

Some jolly season highlights
  • Cole sang his little heart out at the ward Christmas party (even tho he isn't in the primary yet and didn't know the words...no matter...)
  • We made our deliveries (well almost, only 3 remain) and Cole wore his Santa hat and sang his fav. Christmas tune, "Once There was a Snowman."
  • Caught Crew under the Christmas tree. The little guy rolled under the tree for a closer look at all the shiny lights and balls.
  • Went to visit Santa and took pics on his knee. The boys were pretty darn good considering we waiting for 1 hr at 8 p.m. outside at Town Square.

So, tomorrow we travel with all our gifts in tow, hoping to make it before Santa arrives on his sleigh. We don't have a chimney or snow, so we are headed to UT where we are sure to have both.

Merry Christmas.
