Left Corner Pocket

Who knew I'd be calling pool shots while trying to relax, but seriously that's how I feel. This little guy has his head wedged most of the time in my left corner (hip) pocket with the pool cue (bony foot) angled under my right rib. Sounds comfortable, eh?

3 weeks & counting...Here's to "sinking" this little cue ball on May 20!

"These tots have nothing on me"

"Olympic rings, here I come"

"The panic zone...quick grab a comfort object"

"Single arm death grip and octopus comfort object NOT helping"

"Forget hanging onto the wall, I'm going for the ladder"

"Okay, fine...I'll just claw my way out" (nice toes mom)

"Almost to dry deck"

"First swim lesson...traumatic!"

Stay tuned for "Take 2" coming to you Wednesday night.

Rolling Rolling Easter Rolling

Tradition! Tradition! (sing with me now Fiddler) Yes, weird or not, rolling Easter eggs is a tradition in my family. (And at the White House too). Growing up we had a family plaque and each year the winner (the person who's egg went the farthest) would get their name on the plaque. There is also some very serious technique and rules associated with the roll...one must never throw, only a simple flick of the wrist is permitted.

Although our family is small, we decided to continue this tradition. With some slight adjustments...like it's okay to throw your egg up the hill (at Dad) after you roll it down. Tonight we hunted for a hill (not such an easy task in the desert)...until we found one in Green Valley on Paseo Verde that would work for a three year old. (If you have other suggestions let us know...we've done desert breeze, but were looking for a hill closer to home).

Anyway, I shot this quick video of the festivities. We decorated eggs with our LV cousins last night, but it got too late to roll.

We had a great Easter Sunday. Cole went on a hunt inside the house, went to church and had another hunt and learned about "Jesus and the rock" in nursery.

Here's some more pics for the grandparents. If any LV friends are interested in joining in our family tradition next year, just let us know...there is room on the plaque (or you can start your own).

Cole "Big Boy" Childs

We've been working with Cole to help him remember his full name, his parent's names and street name. Lately he's been saying his name is Cole "Big Boy" or Cole Bennett "Big Boy." He occasionally get the "Childs" added on there, but more often than not he doesn't see a need for it.

He likes the idea of being a big boy, but sometimes, usually at night he'll tell me he's a "small boy" not a baby, but a "small boy."

I think "small boy" is just fine. He's already growing up too fast.

P.S. We just took him to get his pictures taken last Sat. and I am so impressed that I walked out of the portrait studio only spending $9.95...on the special package. How's that for a recovering noncouponer?
